On October 9, 2024, the Portugal - São Tomé and Príncipe Business Forum was held in Porto, Portugal, an event of great importance for strengthening trade relations between the two countries. The forum was attended by several São Toméan and Portuguese authorities, as well as businesspeople from various sectors. Representing São Tomé and Príncipe was the Prime Minister and Head of Government, Patrice Emery Trovoada, accompanied by the Minister for the Economy, the Minister for the Environment, and the Minister for Infrastructure, underlining the strategic importance of this meeting. The delegation also included the Ambassador of São Tomé and Príncipe to Portugal and Dr. Alfredo Bragança da Trindade, head of the Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (APCI). The main aim of this forum was to promote business and investment opportunities, strengthening economic cooperation between Portugal and São Tomé and Príncipe, with a special focus on areas such as infrastructure, energy, tourism and sustainability.
