The offshore banking company Consenso Bank Offshore, S.A., a privately-owned institution based in São Tomé, registered with the Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (APCI) through the free and offshore activities sector, for the purpose of conducting offshore banking activities.
With the licensing process in its final stages, the company has an initial authorised share capital of 1,000,000.00 (one million euros).
The initiative is in line with São Tomé and Príncipe's commitment to strengthening an increasingly open and modern financial system in accordance with international best practices.
Consenso Bank will focus on facilitating trade and investment flows between São Tomé and Príncipe (and Africa in general) and global partners, including the United States, China, Brazil and other strategic markets. The arrival of foreign capital — from experienced investors in the banking and technology sectors — reflects growing confidence in the São Tomé business environment.
The bank's operationalisation is dependent on the completion of the technical and regulatory procedures necessary to obtain the final licence from the Central Bank of São Tomé and Príncipe.
